I found a website that was in Japanese and had a poor translation, so I couldn't really tell what was going on. I'm going to be in Tokyo from March 27th-April 7th, then Kyoto from April 7th-April 10th. If I miss the actual blooming, will I at least be there to see them before they fall? I know there's a very short window and it seems with warmer weather things could happen earlier.Does anyone who may be in Japan right now know when the Cherry Blossoms may bloom in Tokyo and Kyoto this year
♡This site should help you out:
Sakura blooming schedule in major cities.
http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/indepth/season…
~♡It's in English for you.
You should be just in time to catch them here in the Tokyo area, around March 26th!
(Kyoto about March 29th.)
Lucky you, it's spectacular.
Don't forget your camera.
Good luck and I hope you find the perfect spot to see the cherry blossoms here in Japan.
Hope this helps. Enjoy!♡
Edit: ';*The full bloom will be one week after from the day of first bloom.'; So you have a chance of catching them when they are 100% and the petals are falling beautifully like pink snow. That's gorgeous to photograph.Does anyone who may be in Japan right now know when the Cherry Blossoms may bloom in Tokyo and Kyoto this year
Good timing! Ive just been watching the evening news here in Tokyo....March 26th is the date in central Tokyo, a few days later further out although with 15 years under my belt and as an amateur weather forecaster I'd say March 28th-30th is most likely! Weathernews shows March 30-31st......
The sakura last 4 or 5 days at most so blink and you'll miss them! There is even snow sometimes as the temperature can change wildly at end of March. Things settle down by the 7th of April or so.
If your browser can show Japanese then click on this site Ive linked it has a map with all the forecast dates for Sakura nationwide! Take your pick and get there early!
