When should I plant canna's in planters for early bloom (St. Louis, MO)?

I am getting married at the end of June and want to use cannas and cascading plants in a planter for decoration. When should I plant the canna's to be sure they will be in bloom for the wedding? And when should I plant the cascading plant (and any suggestions on what kind of cascading plant to use?)

thank youWhen should I plant canna's in planters for early bloom (St. Louis, MO)?
If you live in an area where the temperature is below freezing right now, you probably won't be able to.

You can't plant them outside until after the last frost or they'll get wiped out. In most places that is towards the end of April.

Why not just buy them from a florist? I've never heard of anyone growing their own flowers for their wedding anyway. When should I plant canna's in planters for early bloom (St. Louis, MO)?
Cannas are beautiful plants. the best part is that if the cant flower they still have beautiful foliage. if you are planting from a bulb they prabably wont bloom in time or maybe you would see one bloom or so. i would start inside in febuary in a warm room will lots of light. lots of full sun is the only way for it to flower. take it out in may. bu then it should be ready to flower. hopefully it will be ready in time. but keep from frost and ion warm temps. plant food and full sun are the key to flowers. if you start it inside early it will be flowering just in time.
you have to put seed into warm ground
