Does anyone have any ideas why my wiegelia is not blooming, it gets plenty of sun & water but will not flower?

I know that weigelia bloom on old wood. Perhaps some pruning would encourage it to bloom? Also, most plants need nutrient rich soil to bloom.....so try fertilizing it if you haven't already.
