A paper pellet that blooms into a flower in water?

I remember when I was in middle school (or something) I read a story by Jean Fritz, who was an author who lived in China.





There was something about a paper thing you dropped in water and then it would open into a flower...





does anyone know what this is?A paper pellet that blooms into a flower in water?
I forget that they are called but you can buy then at tea shops in China and then drink them.
