Do remove the spent flowers on a regular basis so that the lily will put all it's energy into replenishing the bulb instead of seed production. Fertilize at the beginning of the growing season, that is, when the leaves first emerge from the soil and then once the plant has been deadheaded so that the bulb will be nourished as is *works* to store up for the next growing season.Should I cut off the remaining parts of the bloom on Day Lilies?
You can remove the spent blooms on day lilies at any time. Don't remove the leaves until they have turned yellow. When the leaves begin to turn yellow is a good time to apply Bulb-tone bulb food for better blooms next year
