What to put on daylillys that won't bloom?

Nomo is right, new plants may take up to three years. They also like full sun. They'll grow in partial to full shade, but won't bloom, or the blossom will be disappointing.

They're not heavy feeders, and there's nothing you can put on them to make them bloom. If they become severely crowded, however, dividing them will result in more bloom. Hope this helps...

Some varieties bloom later than others. Also it may take 2 years after planting for them to bloom. I have had mine 3 years now and they are just now in full bloom - the last 2 years were sparse. Either they are too young to bloom as the other answers suggest or they aren't getting enough sun.

Or have you been using a high nitrogen fertilizer on them already. High nitrogen encourages green leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
